Roof Leak Repairs Auckland
Finding the Real Source of the Leak
A roof leak is rarely directly above the drip. Water can travel along purlins, rafters and sarking before it finds a way through the ceiling, so the stain in your hallway might start several metres away. That is why guesswork and a tube of silicone so often fail.
We trace the path of the water from the inside and the outside, checking fixings, laps, flashings, penetrations, valleys and spouting. Once we have found the cause, we repair it with the right materials for your roof, whether that is new screws and washers, a replacement flashing, new sheets or replacement tiles.
Protect the Inside of Your Home

Even a slow leak can soak insulation, rot framing and damage ceilings and wiring. Fixing it early protects the structure of the house and avoids a much bigger repair bill later.
Typical Causes of Leaks on Auckland Roofs
On long run iron roofs we often see worn screw washers, corroded laps, failed flashings around chimneys and walls, and blocked internal gutters. On tiled roofs, cracked tiles, failed ridge pointing and blocked valleys are common. Overflowing spouting during heavy rain can also push water back under the roof edge.
Auckland's heavy downpours expose these weak points quickly, so a leak that only shows in big storms is still worth fixing before the next one.
Leak Showing Up?
If you can, take a photo of the stain and note when it appears, such as only in heavy rain or strong wind. It helps us find the cause faster.

FAQs
Wind-driven rain can be forced under laps, flashings and tiles that cope fine in light rain. It usually points to a flashing, lap or fixing problem.
Sealant can be a short-term patch, but it breaks down in UV and rarely addresses the cause. We prefer to fix the underlying fault.
Yes. Penetrations are one of the most common leak points, and we repair or replace the flashings around them.
Put a bucket under the drip, move valuables away and, if the ceiling is bulging, keep clear and turn off power to nearby lights if it is safe to do so.
